FAQ

Hi! So you’ve heard about us and have a few questions regarding Koala Sports, but don’t know the answers. You’re on the right page. Let’s see if we can try and answer some of your most likely questions, but, if you still have any questions after reading this page, email us at fun@koalasports.com!

What is Koala Sports?

Koala Sports is an adults only co-ed recreational sports league that strives to bring YOU fun during the middle of your week!

Where are your games played?

We now have multiple leagues and sports! Information on league locations including addresses and directions can be found on the respective league pages.

I see that you guys talk about a playoff tournament. How does that work?

EVERY team is invited to playoffs regardless of their regular season standings. The playoff bracket that we use for the playoffs is determined based on the total number of points that a team earns during the regular season, but, again, EVERY TEAM is automatically allowed to play into the playoffs when they register.

When are playoffs held?

Playoff games are usually held on a Saturday or Sunday at the same park or location where regular season games are played. Playoff dates and times are usually announced during season play.

Do you guys organize any kickball practices?

No, we don’t organize any practices, but you can always go to a park and practice on your own time! And there’s almost always space available for you to practice at our league locations before the start of your game!

How many people do I need to form a team?

You need a minimum of 11 adults to form a team, with four of those adults HAVING TO BE female. But because people usually will miss games, we always recommend that a team have a few more people register for their team so that they always have enough players on the field. Besides, the more the better!!!

Can I sign up my entire team myself?

It depends! We now offer full team registration for some of our sports. Information on team registration can be found on the respective league’s registration page.

What if I don’t have enough people to make a team?

Don’t worry! We’ll do our best to give you free agents to a team. However, please understand that if too many teams don’t sign up full teams, then we’ll have to combine teams so that each team has a minimum of 11 players.

Can I sign up on my own and be placed on a team?

Absolutely! You may always sign up on your own and let us worry about placing you on a team!

How much does it cost to join Koala Sports, and do you charge per team or per adult?

The current price for the league covers: 1) regular season games, 2) a playoff tournament, 3) a team t-shirt or jersey, and 4) food and drink specials at our sponsor locations after games. Prices vary by sport and league location. Pricing information can be found on a league’s respective registration page.

Do I have to pay immediately after registering?

We highly, highly, highly recommend you pay immediately after registering through PayPal, which will immediately pop up after you register. You won’t be allowed to play unless you have paid the league before the season starts.

Are alcoholic drinks allowed?

At Tropical Park, the answer is NO.

At Cutler Bay, the answer is NO.

At Pembroke Pines, the answer is NO.

At PSN Park, the answer is YES, BUT… if you choose to drink alcohol at games, you MUST NOT give any alcohol to anyone under 21 years old. Please place any adult beverages in a separate cup (and don’t bring any open containers anywhere to the park or dump them anywhere in the park).

Remember: YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION (and not Koala Sports). Drink responsibly. This is something you agree to when you register as part of our Terms and Conditions.

What happens if it rains and games get cancelled?

We may have to change the start time of a game we had originally scheduled at a certain time (or add an extra game on a certain day) depending on whether we have to postpone games because of bad weather. Please keep your regular season nights flexible because we may have to adjust things throughout the season and we don’t want you to have to forfeit a game.

Do you have a bar sponsoring you where we hang out after games?

Yes!!! After each of our Miami Lakes regular season games, we go to Sports Grill (Miami Lakes), located at Royal Oaks Plaza on 15462 NW 77th Ct, where they offer $6/pitchers and $1 drafts Wednesday nights for everyone 21 and over. After each of our Tropical Park regular season games, we go to Sports Grill (Bird Road), located at West Bird Plaza, 11481 SW 40th St.

Do you have any pictures online?

Of course! Go to that league’s specific page on koalasports.com, scroll down, and you can see plenty of our pictures. You can also find pictures uploaded almost daily on our Instagram page (@_koalasports).

Where can I find out more about the rules?

To learn more about our rules, please go to www.koalasports.com/rules.

What are Weekly Themes, and how do they work?

Every week, we have a competition based off of our Weekly Theme. Examples may include “Superheroes and Villains,” “Wacky Socks,” and “U.S.A.” The team that shows the most team spirit for that week’s Weekly Theme will enjoy a small gift from us at Sports Grill!

How is the parking situation for game days?

At PSN Park, you have to park on the grass surrounding the park and not inside the gated parking of the park because the park ranger will lock you in at 9 pm (and this has happened to a couple of our players)!

At Tropical Park, you may park on any available parking space inside the park.

At Bel-Aire Park, you may park on the available parking space inside and outside of the park.

At Brian Piccolo Park, you may park on any available parking space inside the park.
